Our January 17th meeting was another reason for celebration. We welcomed our newest member Jay Jayswal with an induction ceremony. Induction Officer Joanne Laird shared great background information about Jay. We are so happy that he has retired and moved to our island and is now the newest member of our thriving club. And we also celebrated with our "celebration cookies" the one year Club Anniversary of members Joanne and Larry Laird. We were shown the newest PR card by Membership Chair Mariko. These cards are distributed to every person who comes to our 3rd Saturday Recycling program. Great job Mariko! Liz May shared great information about the Dr. Seuss Birthday project coming up in March. We were then treated to a presentation about the Ka Ipu Kukui Fellows Leadership Program by Troy Hashimoto, chair of the the Fellows Steering Committee. Also speaking about the program was graduate Mark Takamori, Maui County Deputy Director of Transportation. Both Troy and Mark answered many questions about the program from interested members.
