ROTARY CLUB OF LAHAINA SUNSET INDUCTS THREE NEW MEMBERS
At recent meetings of the Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunset three members were inducted into the club.  Induction officer was Al Weiland, Assistant Governor for the Rotary Coastal Clubs.
BIRGIT AND STEVE ABENOJA have been full-time Maui residents, living in Kahoma Village Lahaina, for the past four and a half years. They relocated from Santa Monica, California, in late 2020 after retiring. Steve retired from the Kern County Fire Department after a 21-year career as a firefighter, while Birgit retired from the Santa Monica Police Department after 14 years as a police officer. For the past three years, Steve has worked part-time at the Westin Maui Resort and Spa. He is an active community member, serving on the board of directors at Kahoma Village. In his free time, Steve enjoys traveling, surfing, and staying active. Birgit volunteers as a Range Safety Officer with the Maui Center Target Shooting Club. She enjoys traveling with her husband, working out, and exploring the island on her scooter.
WARREN JESSOP moved to Lahaina from Southern California in 1976. Over the years, he's built a diverse career, working as a commercial photographer, mortgage loan officer, rainwater catchment system expert, life insurance/annuity agent, and living benefits specialist. Throughout, he's remained a dedicated student of the Bible and a passionate teacher, sharing his knowledge freely. He and his wife, Henedina, raised three sons, and they now enjoy the company of three granddaughters, all of whom live on Maui. Having lived in Lahaina for his first 17 years on the island, Warren now gives back to the community by volunteering his time and expertise with the Lahaina Sunset Rotary Club."
