A RECORD - 5 NEW MEMBERS INDUCTED ON 4/1/25!
We welcomed five new members into our club at a meeting on April 1, 2025. Induction officer was Al Weiland, Assistant Governor.
JOHN AND LISA ALPINE were sponsored by Ken and Mary Krass. John is a recently retired engineer. Born in Santa Monica, CA, he graduated from the University of Chicago and started his career as an electrical engineer and ended it as an executive managing engineers. John and Lisa are part-time residents on Maui and have been owners at Sands of Kahana for 11 years. They have three daughters, two they adopted from Kazakhstan and now in college, one with her doctorate living in Portland. John has lived all over the US, and now he and Lisa spend their time between Colorado and Maui. John enjoys hiking, skiing, golf, flying small planes that Lisa would never get near, and now, through Rotary, both are looking forward to giving back to the community.
ANGEL EMERSON has been a Maui resident since 2015 and is currently employed as the Technical Director at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center. She was introduced to Rotary Club through her work with Lahaina-based Theatre Theatre Maui and has a strong interest in promoting the arts re-growth in the post-fire community. Prior to moving to Hawaii, Emerson’s freelance career included several local tours, a national tour, and an international cruise contract. She holds a BFA in Technical Theatre/Stage Management from Wright State University. She also owns a baking business called Angel’s Cookie Co, which donates a portion of yearly proceeds to Behind The Scenes, a charity near to her heart offering mental health resources to entertainment technology professionals. She has over 20 years’ experience as a henna tattoo artist, and loves reading and traveling. She currently lives central with her partner, Nicole, and their black cats, Chino and Boo.
NICOLE RESNICK’S journey from Miami to Maui reflects a significant life transition fueled by a desire for a fresh start. With a decade of experience in the catering industry, she has played a crucial role in high-profile events like the Super Bowl and the Formula1 race, showcasing her expertise and dedication. As the Food & Beverage General Manager at Kapena's Kitchen which is a company owned by Trilogy Excursions (which has been helping the community and in business for 52 years), she continues to apply her skills in a new environment while contributing to the vibrant culinary scene in Lahaina.
JASMINIE ESGUERRA, DC was recently appointed Ms. Maui Filipina 2025 and is the founder of Pure Wellness Love and The WELL MADE Foundation. She will represent Maui for the Mrs. Hawaii Filipina Scholarship Pageant on June 7th. She’s the grateful mother of three adult daughters; Lourdes, Bianca and Julia and considers her nephew Christian as her fourth child and son. Her mission is to travel the world empowering families to be healthy and financially free. She creates wellness programs for various organizations and is launching her own healing certification for care providers and families called living love. She comes from a lineage of healing service for families and children.
