Founder of Aloha Ranch to speak on May 20
On Tuesday, May 20, 2025, the founder and director of Aloha Ranch will be the speaker at the Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunset meeting.  Denise “Neesey” Nussbaum will talk about “Aloha Ranch, Lahaina:  Our Community’s Journey from Hotels to Hales”.  Neesey will share information about a how Aloha Ranch and our local community partners, have addressed the needs of our local Lahaina fire survivor communities.
Aloha Ranch was founded with a deep commitment to serving the houseless and vulnerable populations in West Maui. The founder, Denise “Neesey” Nussbaum has dedicated her life to working with marginalized communities. After a distinguished career as a Professor of Sociology and Diversity Leader in California, Dr. Nussbaum “retired” to Maui and immediately saw the urgent needs of the local community. In 2019, Neesey and a small group of West Maui residents came together to create Aloha Ranch, an organization focused on helping families and individuals experiencing homelessness. Over the years, this team has worked side-by-side with local organizations, volunteers, and donors to provide essential services and support to local ohana in need. Aloha Ranch is the recipient of a $200,000 Rotary District 5000 Foundation Maui Fire Relief funds to provide household items to support the 450 families moving into the Tiny Home Village community in Wahikuli, Lahaina.
The meeting will be held in the Lahaina Noon Restaurant at the Royal Lahaina Resort and Bungalows, 2780 Kekaa Drive, Lahaina, 96761. Social time and ordering food and drink from the Happy Hour Menu is at 4:00 p.m.  Program is from 4:30-5:30 pm. To attend in person, email Club Service Chair Laura Stanton at lstanton127@outlook.com.
