West Maui Community Plan topic of October 20th virtual meeting
Three representatives of the West Maui Community Plan Advisory Committee will make a presentation to the Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunset at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 20th.  Kai Nishiki is the chair of the West Maui Community Plan Advisory Committee, member of the Mayor’s Tourism Advisory Committee, West Maui Community Association and VP of the West Maui Preservation Association.  She is an advocate for beach access, coastal restoration and tourism management across Maui County.
 
Leilani Pulmano has lived in Lahaina for over 20 years. Leilani works at Pacific Rim Land. She is also a 2009 graduate of the Ka Ipu Kukui Fellowship Program. She is the on the board of Hawaii Housing Public Authority and served on the board for the Hawaii Housing Finance Development Corporation from 2012 to 2020.
 
Karen Comcowich is dedicated to preserving a sustainable and diverse Maui.    During her 15 years in Lahaina, she has worked in a variety of positions in the hospitality, from barista to management, giving her intimate knowledge of the challenges West Maui workers face, including access to comfortable affordable housing and time to enjoy our beautiful home.   Karen enjoys being involved with Kula Kaiapuni O Maui Ma Nāhiʻenaʻena, volunteering for beach clean-ups and Loʻi restoration, and talking to conservationists about how to maintain a sustainable Maui.
