November 29 meeting

Another meeting filled with fun and great information.  President Melissa was off island with family and D5000 Youth Service Chair Joanne Laird presided over the meeting.  We welcomed Polly Angelakis from the National Park Service who shared a great presentation about the history of the National Parks and even had some trivia questions for us!  We all learned a lot about the National Parks and the historical photos were amazing.   Members Mike Burr, Nina Paolo, and Karen Krenz received their “official” member badges.  Jim Fahnestock announced the winners of the “Elevator Pitch” contest – many entries were submitted and the committee selected Melissa Crawley and Katie Zimmerman’s entries as the winners.  Karen Krenz presented her Vocational Talk – she is a very talented lady!!  Sandy announced the many upcoming community service projects and sign-up sheets were circulated.  Joanne announced that we will be having two more consecutive Tuesday meetings on December 6^th and 13^th, just like a “real” Rotary Club!   Sandy Schneider’s Going Away and Joint Holiday party will be held on Tuesday December 20^th.
